Star(Cross) shaped berry? - berry star yogurt franchise

I'm in the woods with my grandfather and I came across this tree (I think it was) a shrub and I came to this star-shaped fruit. OK, I think it may be more than a cup-shaped berries. With rounded ends in four it was a red-pink.

Any ideas on this?
This is in northern Indiana
